Greg Lauren Tour Jacket & Wardrobe
Greg Lauren and I are frequent collaborators. My studio makes the patterns in New York, virtually working with Greg’s unique lexicon of sustainability. For Questlove’s wardrobe, we created a Sukajan (the Japanese term used for Souvenir Jacket, also known as Japanese Bomber Jacket) featuring a characteristic embroidered style. The tour jacket is for a fictitious tour envisioned by Questlove, and we executed it in collaboration with Greg. It was inspired by a famous novel, “Sangetsu-ki,” in which the protagonist turns into a tiger at last. The tiger symbolizes aloofness as well as strength.
