Diesel Editorial

In an area outside Paris, I did street casting and styling at a soccer field with local youth for an advertorial with a now-defunct French fashion publication and the fashion brand Diesel.  Pre-selfie and pre-Instagram, this shoot was impromptu and was the beginning of my foray into vernacular styling — finding individuals “in situ” and creating an authentic connect in the image creation. This was one of my first attempts at creating images in fashion that allow the subjects to feel like they are being themselves. It was not so much about styling but about revealing, experiencing and documenting. I  am trying to leave esthetic traces through fashion images that are less manufactured but instead  reflect a genuine moment and connection.  I’d like to nurture a sense of community.
